Things you DON’T see in North America like EVER

I’ve started the daunting task of looking through my ~~hundreds~~ thousands upon thousands of pictures.

I could write a whole story about some of the crazy things we saw that would never be allowed back home, home as in Canada. From petting a cheetah to swimming at the edge of a mighty waterfalls, and zebra and giraffe wandering freely around our resort…

I thoroughly enjoyed 90% of the trip to my parents homeland, the remaining 10% I got incredibly sick and hope I never get sick like that again.

Meeting family was the best.

God-willing really hope to go back within the next 3 years and visit the family and friends I didn’t get to meet and the cities we didn’t get to see. Time was not on our side, we did so much and it feels like so little.

I’m ready to blog now and share what I experienced in this beautiful country, so stay tuned.

It’s my responsibility to hold our passports and travel documents and Vick’s responsibility to hold the heavy baggage. I accidentally dropped one of our passports on the floor at Heathrow today… you should have seen the look on Vick’s face when a woman walking by, called out that we had dropped something and we turned around and saw a passport on the floor and realised I was just holding one.

Yosemite in the Summer

We spent a day visiting and hiking through this beautiful National Park and it was one of the highlights of our California trip because as I’ve said many times, nothing beats nature.

We got to see well-known sites such as El Capitan and Half Dome and the pretty Bridalveil Falls among other places. Granite cliffs, waterfalls at every turn, postcard views and the fascinating giant sequoia trees (check out the size of them seriously)… I wish I had my new camera at the time to capture everything more effectively:

If you’re visiting California, don’t miss out, this place was gorgeous.

Tips:

1. Take water bottles and snacks

2. Be prepared for a lot of walking

3. Leave early in the morning so you can stay at the park all day (it’s quite a drive from San Francisco)

4. Make sure your camera’s batteries are fully charged, you’ll want to take pictures of everything

5. This is a huge national park, there might not be a washroom facilities where you need them most – keep this in mind!!
